7H DSL Specification
The formal language behind The 7 Horizons Framework. It turns the map in the book into something software can check: node types and required fields for each horizon, the edges between them, and the rules that flag a broken chain.
Most readers of the book never need it. It is for whoever builds the graph, or writes a tool on top of it.
Free to read, download and implement. No form, nothing to sign.
Current version: v1.0
English is the reference version. If a translation disagrees with it, the English text wins.
Every version keeps its own address. A tool built against v1.0 can keep pointing at /spec/v1.0 after newer versions ship.
Changelog
- v1.0 — October 2026
First public version. Moved out of the book, where it was Appendix D.
Nothing breaks: this is the starting point.
New versions
Two ways, pick one. Watch the GitHub repository with Custom → Releases, or follow the feed. Either way you get one notice per release and nothing else.
Found a hole?
Open an issue on GitHub: where in the spec, what's wrong, and the case where it broke. I read every one.
A field changes once the same gap shows up in two or three independent cases. One case is a note, not a change.
